Clevedon Cricket Club are delighted to announce the double appointment of Paul Unwin as the new 1st team manager for the 2023 season alongside the signing of New Zealand pro, Bayley Wiggins.
Paul, who is a former Somerset and Clevedon player, is returning to Clevedon from his homeland this summer to lead the clubs promotion charge back to WEPL Prem One.
He will arrive following the conclusion of the domestic cricket season in New Zealand alongside batsmen Bayley Wiggins, who is currently playing for Central Districts.
The pair look to bolster Clevedon’s options moving forward, with Bayley set bring fireworks to the crowds up Dial Hill this summer.
Clevedon Cricket Club Chairman, Marc Jenkins, said: “We are so excited to welcome Paul and Bayley up to Dial Hill this summer.
“Paul is a former player and is known to many around the area, so it is brilliant to have him back.
“With him arrives Bayley, who is one of the brightest young prospects currently playing in New Zealand.
“To have a player of his calibre arrive will certainly attract the crowds to Dial Hill this summer, with the season getting underway on Saturday, May 6th.
“With the disappointment of relegation last summer, we are hungrier than ever to get back where we belong, and these two additions will help us with that”.
